UAE TRC for Companies

What Is a Company TRC?

A company TRC is evidence issued by the FTA for an eligible juridical person for the requested tax-residency purpose and period. Businesses may use it in cross-border tax processes, treaty-related claims or requests from foreign counter-parties.

Who Can Apply?

A UAE legal person can apply subject to the applicable criteria. The FTA FAQ states that, for tax-agreement purposes, a legal person must have been established in the UAE at least one year earlier. Other evidence depends on the application.

Corporate Documents to Prepare

Trade licence or incorporation evidence
Memorandum and constitutional documents (where required)
Proof of authorization for the applicant
Office lease / tenancy information (where required)
Ownership and company information
Financial statements / audited report (where required)
Local bank statement evidence (where required)
Country-specific documents or special forms

Financial Statements and Bank Evidence

The current 2025 FTA TRC manual lists audited financial report documentation and a local bank statement covering six months within the relevant financial year for treaty-purpose legal-person applications.

The exact evidence should be checked against the current application type before submission.

Why Financial Records Matter

A company TRC application can intersect with broader financial compliance work because the application may require financial reports, banking evidence and consistent corporate information.

Free Zone and Mainland Companies

Both mainland and free zone entities may need to assess eligibility based on the actual application rules. The company’s licensing authority does not by itself replace the FTA’s TRC criteria.

🏢

Free Zone

Free zone status does not automatically prevent an application — the entity must satisfy the relevant FTA requirements.

Mainland

Mainland entities may also apply. Compare the two routes to understand any differences.
